Custom Action Figures

actionfigure1

actionfigure5Artist: Adam Crohn
Company: AC Custom Figures

I make 6″ super articulated custom action figures. Mostly superhero and sci-fi related characters. I usually start with a generic base, grind it down, and sculpt it back up with Aves Apoxie Sculpt. Then paint the figure.

Products Used: I mostly use Aves 2 part Apoxie Sculpt. I prefer the white as I find it’s easier to work with and gives you a longer work time.

The Wolf ‘London’

Artist: Debra Mager
Company: Cinderella Mosaics

final-London-Before-picLondon, named after Jack London, who wrote Call Of The Wild, was a fantastic challenge for me. I’d never done anything quite so “serious” on such a deeply textured substrate, (I used Apoxie Sculpt in black to fill in the nooks and crannies). I collaborated with the client every step of the way. When I handed London to her (we met in Tennessee so I did not have to ship him) she teared up; she was so moved. What a reward that was for me! She has since given it to her son, who collects wolves, for his birthday. What a great gift giver she is!

20170727_CinderellaKrazyKatThis is called “Krazy Kat”. All the materials are imbedded in black AS. I love this method. I can decorate with all of my goofy doodads and don’t have to grout! He just sold.

The Clown Birds

Processed with MOLDIV

Recently I was invited to create some art for the Grand Opening of Quirks Art Gallery in Williamsburg, Virginia with their opening theme of a Circus/Sideshow.
I had just completed Michael deMeng’s online workshop – The Twisted Toyshop. The workshop inspired me to give a twist to some bird assemblages I make and with that I came up with “The Clown Birds”. The bird assemblages are all wood. The little hats and clown masks, and circus outfits are all made with Aves Apoxie Sculpt. I also use Aves Apoxie Sculpt for securing all the pieces, which never fails me, I have complete assurance that everything will remain intact. The Fortune Teller was constructed using Aves Apoxie Sculpt as well. I am a complete addict when it comes to your Apoxie Sculpt. When I first discovered it, through Sandra Evertson’s Relics and Artifacts Tribe on Facebook, it totally took my art to a new level. It is the one staple in my studio, I will never be without. I usually order online through Amazon, but I was sent here today because I am taking another one of Michael deMeng’s classes, Strange Tales-Magic and Miracles and he told us about going straight to your sight and using his name for 10% off. That’s when I saw that I could up load some photos and have the opportunity to Thank you for such a great product!
