To all at Aves Studio,

Your Apoxie® Clay has become an indispensable part of my studio. I have made Dreamstar Productions a studio of some specialty. Sculpture is a competitive business at best when one does Western or Wildlife art. Although I have accepted commissions in those lines, my main business and passion has always been all things prehistoric and fantastic. I love to sculpt and I don't love mold making. As a result my  idiosyncracies have forced me into the happy circumstance of running a custom studio creating dinosaurs and dragons for museums and private businesses and collectors all over the world.

The demands of this tactic are simple. Sculpt in permanent, durable materials that do not require expensive mass production technology. The finished pieces are mixed media: steel armatures, fiberglass understructures, clay skin and features, and glass eyes in the lifesize work. All the fine wrinkles, eyelids, and sharp teeth behind lips are sculpted of the  most versatile, unshrinkable, stable compound I have ever discovered Apoxie® Clay.

I have battled shrinkage, cracks and distortions inherent in all wood pulp based materials. Clay and wax were more controllable and gave finer detail. This kept me striving to explore more exotic materials  while trying to "build the perfect beast." Whether it is miniature mastadon tusks or lifesize dinosaur eyelids, Apoxie® Clay is the most versatile material I have ever found. And, the colors save  me time by eliminating hand painting of nooks and crannies.

I guess I could rant for a page or two more, and it would all be true. But you get the idea. I like a no holds barred approach. Whether I am doing Super Sculpy masters for gift marketing, or a lifesized  TRex head for a museum, Apoxie® Clay is the final touch on every one of them.

Keep it coming, guys!
